Rake a Difference is Midland county's signature project for Make A Difference Day - a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Actually longer than a day, the program begins in mid-October, and ends at Thanksgiving.
It's a great way for youth groups and families to get involved in their community by doing what to some may seem to be easy, routine yard work. The program serves low-income senior citizens and people with health issues or disabilities.
In 2008, over 200 community volunteers participated, cleaning up over 18 area yards.
Anyone can participate! Form a team of 5 to 10 co-workers, family or church members, or we can match you up with an existing team. If you'd like to participate but can't form a complete team, just call 631-7660 and we'll match you with another group.
