Starting at gifts of $1,000, Leadership Giving is a powerful way to have an impact on the community and show you care. Once again in 2006, the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation pledged a challenge grant of up to $90,000 to support the Leadership Circle and Labor Leads programs, inspiring people to give more. The full amount of the grant was earned through the donations of 902 leadership givers. In 2006 these generous donors pledged $1,583,161 representing 34% of the community’s giving total.

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society honors generous individuals who contribute $10,000 or more annually to the United Way. These civic-minded leaders are guiding a powerful legacy that will continue to shape our community’s future for many years.
