| The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) is devoted to the development of affordable housing opportunities for low-income Midland families. AHA owns sixty-eight two and three bedroom rental units that are provided for rent at less than market rates to families who earn less than 30% and 50% of median income for Midland County. Informal support services are obtained for families and individuals through collaboration with other agencies. |

| The mission of the American Red Cross Midland/Gladwin Chapter is to provide relief to victims of disaster and to help people, prepare for and respond to disasters. Founded in 1917, the Midland/Gladwin Chapter keeps our community safe through CPR/First Aid/AED training, Safety Town program for pre-kindergarteners, babysitter safety training, and worksite training. The Midland/Gladwin Chapter's Armed Forces Emergency Services Program provides emergency communication between the members of the military and their families, assistance with temporary leave and emergency financial assistance for veterans. The Disaster Services Department assists local victims of disaster with emergency food, shelter, clothing, and medication replacements. The chapter also trains local volunteers to assist with national and international relief operations. |

| Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Heart of Michigan serves children in Midland and Isabella Counties and has been the leader in one-to-one youth service since 1954. We work to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people. Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children who come primarily from single parent families or children who have been referred by other organizations who serve children. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 may be enrolled in our program and remain involved with the agency until they reach their 18th birthday or graduate from high school. All matches and families of matched and unmatched children are supported by BBBS professional staff who provide counseling and social work services. The agency also hosts a variety of special events. Men, women, couples and families may serve as volunteers in our traditional one-to-one program. Teaming Up With YOUth is our school-based mentoring program which matches elementary and middle school children with high school and college students. This program meets in a group setting once a week throughout the school year. |

| The Literacy Council provides one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, spelling and math to qualifying adults and children. All services are free of charge and confidential. The Literacy Council offers the Adult Basic Educational Program and English as a Second Language. The Workforce Literacy Program helps job-seekers improve their skills and operates in the Midland Michigan Works! facility. The Dyslexia Program offers a new way of learning to both children and adults who are struggling readers. The council also has a family literacy program and gives books to at-risk children who otherwise would have little or no access to reading materials. |
